For Father's Day weekend, the kids and I took Kelly to a near by hotel for a mini vacation. It was incredibly hot out that weekend (I know, surprise, surprise ... it was hot in the middle of summer in Arizona). Needless to say, it was great to just play in all the different pools, lazy river, splash pad (Grace's favorite) and the water slide (Jackson's favorite). Everyone had a blast and although we all came back home with heat exhaustion, I think we would all agree it was well worth it. Anything to beat the heat in Arizona is always well worth it!
These are too cute not to share! Her biggest smiles always come when the wind starts to blow through her hair. What a little ham! Does this mean that we have a diva in the making? Yikes!
We took our annual trip to Michigan over Fourth of July and had a great time! Jackson loved being around his cousins and playing on all the different boats. He was so brave and didn't even hesitate when we asked him if he wanted to wakeboard with his Uncle Jon!
Jackson has fallen in love with skateboards (largely in part, due to his cousins, whom he absolutely adores). As any normal parents, we have decided to reward him for completing his potty training with a skateboard. Because of that decision, it is now all we hear about. When he wakes up in the morning, "Mommy, maybe today I'll go potty in the toilet every time and then I'll get my skateboard and we'll have soooo much fun." When he says his prayers at night, "please bless that I will be able to get my skateboard and we can go in the driveway really, really fast." At least it's keeping him driven to accomplish the goal. We are almost there and we are so excited! Finally, we will only have one child in diapers. Bribery is a sweet, sweet thing!
Here is Grace, doing what she does best ... sitting. This would explain why she has been affectionately nicknamed, 'The Blob." This quality makes her a great little model for mommy to practice taking pictures on. These photos are a little old, but let's be honest ... she hasn't changed much. She just gets cuter everyday.
So, I am trying this blog thing. Mostly in a vain attempt to avoid the projects I should really be doing. Maybe someday my kids won't mind that they don't have any photo albums of their childhood because, "at least mommy figured out how to blog." Maybe not!
